The short version

There are no accounts, no logins, no newsletter and no forms. You are never asked for your name, your email or any other personal detail, and none is stored. What does happen is ordinary web analytics and, where advertising is served, advertising cookies. Both are described below and both can be refused.

Analytics

The site may use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies and processes your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view and the site that referred you. Google acts as our processor for this and its own privacy policy applies to the data it holds. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on or by refusing analytics cookies.

Advertising

The site may carry advertising served by Google AdSense and Mediavine together with their advertising partners. These may set cookies or similar identifiers to measure and, where you allow it, personalise advertising. They may process your IP address, approximate location, device information and the pages you visit.

Where consent is required by law, advertising and analytics cookies are set only after you give it, and the consent notice lets you change or withdraw it at any time.

Server logs

The hosting provider keeps standard request logs, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the service running. These are kept for a short period and are not used to build a profile of you.

Children

This site publishes information about schools, not about pupils. It is not directed at children, does not knowingly collect information from them, and contains no personal information about any student.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to it, to data portability, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Residents of California and other US states with comparable laws may have the right to know what is collected and to opt out of its sale or sharing — this site does not sell personal information.
